Oh, one more tidbit about last night. I went into the city before Michael did, and I made a big deal out of him forgetting his ticket. He's a bit of a luftmensch (head in the clouds) and I got all pissy.
"Do you need me to staple this to your collar?"
"Don't forget."
"Don't forget."
"Seriously, don't forget."
So what happened? I forgot my ticket. I am so bummed, because now I've not only lost all credibility, but I've lost all snide-rights. It will be months before I can bitch at him for being absent-minded.
I hate that.

At the rist of fawning, I've read all your books (and Michael's), and have seen you both speak at the LSC hoo-has every year (devastated to see that you'll be at the SF library bash this year instead), and I ADORE your writing. I read the funny bits aloud to my resolutely-non-fiction-reading litigator of a husband, who is himself a bit of a luftmensch.
