Texas is the Worst State in the Union

If you needed any more evidence that the state of Texas is a cesspool of dishonesty, corruption, and vileness, look at this. A Texas appeals court has redeemed itself and it's entire state after the prosecutors in the Yates trial presented perjured testimony. The shrink testifying against Yates (remember Yates, she drowned her children after years of post-partum psychosis?) lied about a Law & Order episode he claimed she must have seen. He was a "consultant" for Law & Order and claimed that there was an episode about a woman who drowned her children and was found not guilty by reasons of insanity. Turns out, no such episode aired. Now, maybe the asshole actually consulted on such an episode, and maybe it was in the pipeline but just hadn't aired yet. Or maybe he's a scum-sucking pig who perjured himself on the stand. You choose.

This whole case enrages me. The woman has one of the most remarkable histories of post-partum depression/psychosis I've ever heard of, and her husband decides that the best thing to do in those circumstances is 1. to continue having children and 2. to have her homeschool them. In a bus.

I'd have drowned the husband, in addition to the kids.

I would have to wholeheartedly agree.
I found the story of Andrea Yates to be absolutely heartbreaking and could never understand how they could possibly have found her guilty. Of course no matter what had happened to her, she is in he own private hell and by all accounts is suicidal whenever she is with it enough to think about what she did. I'm amazed that Rusty Yates is allowed to go forth and multiply should he so chose. I hope no woman ever lets him.
As for Texas, they elected George W., the great leader who didn't want to have DNA tests used on inmates on Death Row 'cause he "trusted the system". So much so that he didn't want it put to the test.

On another note, how come the defense team didn't discover the perjury before the end of the trial?

I agree the whole thing is heartbreaking. And not that she asked me, but I think the proper resolution would be criminal charges for both spouses (even though there's an angry part of me that holds him more responsible than her, she was ill, he was just plain old selfish) -- but with the mother in an institution where someone can at least PRETEND to help her.

I can't help but take offense at the digs at Texas, though. If you think this kind of thing doesn't happen all over this dishonest, corrupt, vile cesspool of a nation, you're mistaken.

And Texas only elected that moron W governor. The rest of the country elected him freakin' president.

*ssholes are everywhere. Idiots, too. Look around.

Shutting up now, Reecie

Reecie -- apologies. You're right. We're all bozos for electing him. Although I still get a little freaked out in Texas. Y'all love your death penalty a whole lot. Not that I hold *you* responsible. :)

My idea of the proper resolution of the case would have been a finding of not guilty by reasons of insanity. That doesn't result in her going free. That results in her being institutionalized in a facility for the criminally insane -- truly a nightmare -- until she becomes sane again. If she were to regain her faculties, and it's possible she might, given that post-partum psychosis does often pass with medication and time, I would be very careful about releasing her, not because I think she would ever be a danger to society, but because I think as soon as she "wakes up" she will realize the true extent of what she has done and kill herself. If she were released, and were not suicidal, I'd also be sure that DSS was on top of the case, so they could immediately take custody of any child she would have and evaluate whether or not she was able to retain her parental rights. I realize that is harsh, and I realize that with proper care and medication she would not harm another baby, but I think the risk is probably too high.

I think Texas is the absolute cesspool of the United States of America. If Texas all of sudden detached and floated away into the gulf I'd be partying for days. I don't trust a Texan any further than I can throw him.

Saw your blog about equity apartment - as it is along the same lines I thought I would share this link with you. We were paying far too much for family things like clothes for us and the kids, games consoles inc the new Wii and soon to be PS3, car insurance/home insurance/pet insurance, broadband, mobile phones, landline calls, home and garden items, camping equipment and utilities/loans etc - you name it, we were spending too much on it.

Then a friend of mine recommended a site called www.bargainplace.co.uk. We were able to get cheaper electricity, gas, mobile phone, broadband and loan deals at bargainplace. Thanks to my friend (and the site) I am saving something like £100 a month and can afford an extra holiday abroard each year. Booked of course on www.bargainplace.co.uk. Thanks bargainplace ;-) !!

Good blog - very interesting!! I liked it so much I'm going to share this hush hush advice with you. Ever wondered how your neighbours are driving around in their brand new BMW or Mercedes cars - with their kids dressed in all the latest named gear and foreign holidays aplenty?? Well they discovered the secret to the extra online income.

If you are looking for a free tool to attract loads of free links to your blog or website then congratulations I've got the solution for you - and it is FREE!!

My website specialises in home equity loan without perfect credit and to drive traffic to my website I was searching around the internet for absolutely ages looking for SEO tools and ffa submission sites to fire my site up the Google search engine - unfortunately these doing work and in fact had the opposite affect plunging my site down the rankings like it had a heavy weight attached!!, then I signed up for this free superb traffic generating tool - I now have loads of hits to my websites/blogs and my site is shooting back up the Google rankings quicker than ever before.

Consequently this saw my affiliate commissions shoot through the roof - meaning lots of extra money coming in for my family - I bought my first Mercedes car on the proceeds of my online campaign.

I hope the tool will serve you equally as well as it has me - it's free!!

Best of luck, cheers for now, dave.

We will work with you to develop a plan that best serve your particular needs. We will then negotiate with your lender to incorporate any changes that are needed to make the plan acceptable both to you and to your lender. Keeping you in your home is advantageous to the lender. Our job is to help them appreciate that advantage.
SHORT SALES MAY SELL YOU SHORT

You may have been told that a short sale is your only course of action. What you may not have been told is that you may be dealing with the consequences of that action for many years.

DEADLINE SENSITIVITY

We understand that you may be facing immediate deadlines and that any delay can mean a loss of meaningful options for relief.

BEYOND BANKRUPTCY

Though we are happy to assist you with bankruptcy, should that be necessary, we believe it is an option that is avoidable more often than people realize.

TYPICAL RESTUCTURING PLANS

Restructuring plans may include:

Adding delinquent payments and any foreclosure fees to the back end of the loan. This may include a permanent reduction in your interest rate.

Forbearance plans may be used to temporarily halt the foreclosure process for up to four years while you make payments to become current with the lender.

GOALS OF NEGOTIATION WITH YOUR LENDER

In our negotiations with your lender we are seeking to lower your payments, lower the interest rate, mitigate any negative impact on your credit rating, and keep your home from going into foreclosure. The lender benefits by continuing to receive payments on the mortgage, and saving on the costs that would be incurred in a foreclosure.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We will need to document your income and expenses for the last two years. Documentation will include pay stubbs, tax returns, bank statements and property tax bills, and all of the paperwork associated with your mortgage. We will need copies of your bills to document your financial situation and the factors that led to your falling behind. Please provide any other letters or notices that demonstrate that you faced a reduction in your income or higher than expected expenses.

TELLING YOUR STORY

We will ask you to prepare a draft letter that explains in your own words what factors have led to your need for a modification from the lender. It is important that you author this letter, and that it is not generic. Please include the details that bring to life the financial difficulties that you have faced. If you feel that you were not properly and fully informed regarding the terms of your loan, please describe the process by which you came to sign the loan papers and what your understanding of the terms of your loan was at that time.

Cannabis, also known as marijuana (sometimes spelled "marihuana among many other names refers to any number of preparations of the Cannabis plant intended for use as a psychoactive . The word marijuana comes from the Mexican Spanish marihuana. According to the United Nations, cannabis "is the most widely used illicit substance in the world."[5]
The typical herbal form of cannabis consists of the flowers and subtending leaves and stalks of mature pistillate of female plants. The resinous form of the drug is known as hashish (or merely as 'hash').
The major psychoactive chemical compound in cannabis is Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (commonly abbreviated as THC). Cannabis contains more than 400 different chemical compounds, including at least 66 other cannabinoids (cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN) and tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), etc.) which can result in different effects from those of THC alone.
Cannabis use has been found to have occurred as long ago as the 3rd millennium BC] In modern times, the drug has been used for recreational, religious or spiritul, and medicinal purposes. The UN estimated that in 2004 about 4% of the world's adult population (162 million people) use cannabis annually, and about 0.6% (22.5 million) use it on a daily basis.[9] The possession, use, or sale of cannabis preparations containing psychoactive cannabinoids became illegal in most parts of the world in the early 20th century Since then, some countries have intensified the enforcement of cannabis prohibition, while others have reduced it.

A bridal registry is a service provided by a website or retail store to assist engaged couples in the communication of gift preferences to wedding guests. Selecting items from store stock, the couple lists desired items and files this list with the chosen merchant. The list is then made available to wedding guests, either by the couple's family or the merchant. Upon the purchase of a listed item, this gift registry is updated accordingly. In addition to providing valuable information for the buyer, the system helps prevent the receipt of duplicate or unwanted gifts, potentially saving time for both giver and recipient.
The practice of a bridal registry was first instituted by Chicago-founded department store Marshall Field's in 1924 at its Marshall Field and Company Building as a means for the engaged couple to indicate chosen china, silver and crystal patterns to family and friends. US-based Target stores were the first to introduce an electronic self-service gift registry in 1993, using a service provided by The Gift Certificate Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The technology was invented and subsequently patented by William J. Veeneman et al., the founder and CEO of The Gift Certificate Center.

In the past few years the traditional concept of the bridal registry has evolved. On one side we now have more specialized versions such as honeymoon registry and charity registry. On the other side we also have more general registries that allow consumer to have items from many stores in one single registry (commonly referred as Universal Registries

In the UK, Bridal Registries are more commonly known as 'Wedding Lists'. It is common for couples to send out a copy of their Wedding List details with their wedding invitations. There has also been a recent trend towards innovative gift list services that allow the wedding couple to add almost anything to their gift list—such as contributions to their honeymoon, flights or experience days, as well as traditional gifts from any store.

During the last couple of years bridal registries have become popular across Europe. Since an increasing amount of Europeans study or work abroad at some point in their life, European weddings tend to have international guests. European registry services account for this by being often multi-lingual.

Another increasing trend that has become apparent amongst wedding registries is the idea of a 'contributory registry' or 'contribution registry', whereby multiple guests can collectively contribute to the purchasing of a single larger gift for the couple, whereas traditionally each guest would usually contribute to a single lower value item. The term 'contributory registry' .

I have the trouble handled on printing the labels. Somehow, I got a top
margin on web page one that was non-standard (smaller sized)
compared to the other pages. This was throwing every label off.
I might not find a method of deleting the very first web page just, so I trimmed and

The outcome was fantastic and the top margin on every one of the pages
